about

I'm excited to be working with one of my favorite producers in the world, Charlie Peacock, on a brand new studio album!

This album is a precursor to the upcoming one; it's a collection of live sessions, rehearsals, and videos and it represents what I've been up to for the last year or two. I hope it'll tide you over until the new one comes out.

Days to Come will only be available for a limited time!

Track Name: Fighting For the Wrong Side
I’ve been naive and foolish
my eyes only seeing what they wish
denied the crimes
in front of me

I gave you all of my trust
blind faith kept me in the fight for us
the cause was lost
and I should have seen

baby I’ve been wrong before
the battles we fought, I thought it was a holy war
smoke rolls back I lift my eyes
all this time I was fighting for the wrong side
fighting for the wrong side

I marched like a toy soldier
obeyed every last order
to keep the peace
so I believed

Now you treat me like a stranger
walked out of my life and changed my world
the day you made
me your enemy

baby I’ve been wrong before
the battles we fought, I thought it was a holy war
smoke rolls back I lift my eyes
all this time I was fighting for the wrong side
fighting for the wrong side

I’ll tell you what my heart breaks for
wasted love that I’ll see no more
smoke rolls back I lift my eyes
all this time I was fighting, fighting,
fighting for the wrong side
Track Name: Top of the Stairs
I’d rather be a speck in the sky
than never get the chance to shine
rather be a speck in the sky

I’d rather finish dead last place
than never get to run the race
rather finish dead place

you’re living if you’re trying
even if you’re not flying
but standing still is still just dying

I may never make it and I don’t care
Gotta keep climbing til I run out of air
I may never make it and I don't care
It’s all about steps not the top of the stairs

I’d rather be a speck in the sky
than never get the chance to shine
I’d rather be a speck in the sky

And I'd rather have you laughing behind my back
Saying what a joke, put your head on the tracks
I'd rather you be laughing behind my back
Than live in your box, too scared to act

I may never make it and I don’t care
Gotta keep climbing til I run out of air
I may never make it and I don't care
It’s all about steps not the top of the stairs

I may never make it and I don’t care
Gotta keep climbing til I run out of air
I may never make it and I don't care
It’s all about steps not the top of the stairs

you’re living if you’re trying
even if you’re not flying
but standing still is still just dying

I may never make it and I don’t care
Gotta keep climbing til I run out of air
I may never make it and I don't care
It’s all about steps not the top of the stairs

I may never make it and I don’t care
Gotta keep climbing til I run out of air
I may never make it and I don't care
It’s all about steps not the top of the stairs
Track Name: Old Soul
Well I may be young
Still got a long way to go
But my roots run deep
and I know what matters most
Even though there are things I will never understand
I am an old soul
Can't take the old soul
out of this young man

I believe in love
even when it proves me wrong
One door might close
For something else to come along
I know time's gonna change my best-laid plans
I am an old soul
Can't take the old soul
Out of this young man

When life gets complicated
I take it in stride
Each day I'm get better
at being alive
No trials
could make
me doubt
who I am
Cause I'm an old soul
Can't take the old soul
out of this young man

Wanna treat a woman right
when I find the right one
lotta silver, lotta gold out there
but she's gonna be my platinum
Yeah I'm holding out til it's worth holding on
Cause I'm an old soul
I know that someday
she'll come along

When I get low and lonely
I hold my head high
Each day I'm get better
at being alive
No trials
could make me doubt
who I am
Cause I'm an old soul
Can't take the old soul
out of this young man

I am an old soul
can't take the old soul out of this young man
Track Name: Gold Plated Lie
I catch hell for paradise lost
but when it comes to bargains I’m the boss
here's an offer that’ll light your fuse
step right up you got nothing to lose

down and desperate you must be
if you’re here and you come to me
say the word and I’ll pull my strings
I’ll take care of everything

sign your name, make your seal
shake my hand, we have a deal
your soul is traded
for my gold plated
lie

maybe you want a rich man’s life
maybe you want your neighbor’s wife
i got that in the palm of my hand
listen up now here’s the plan

blaze the path I set you on
use your friends as stepping stones
when you hear a cry for help don’t stop
you’re getting closer to the top

sign your name, make your seal
shake my hand, we have a deal
your soul is traded
for my gold plated pikachu

caesar’s empire had no end
pharoah’s pyramid still stands
I’ll set you up to take it all
of course I’d never let you fall

sign your name, make your seal
shake my hand, we have a deal
your soul is traded for my gold plated lie
Track Name: Saved the Day
Save a penny
save a sun ray
for a hard time
for a dark day
when what's coming
comes out to play
and your back's against the wall

keep some laughter
in your heart's vault
and the bad stuff
take it with salt
when the moment
is in free fall
you will find you've saved the day

love you save right now
never will run out

on the day when
you have zero
what's inside you
will appear
oh the unlikely
superhero
you will find you've saved the day
Track Name: Sweet Symsonia
She's my dixie baby
southern honeybee
Wild as Kentucky
Sweet as Tennessee
I'm just feeling lucky that
she hangs around with me

my sweet Symsonia
my sweet Symsonia
my sweet songbird of the south
where would I be without
my sweet symsonia

She ain’t lost her mind like New York City
She ain’t cold like Boston town
She’s no high-heeled spray tan Los Angeles
her boots fall on solid ground
and home will always be
the honeysuckle sound

of my sweet Symsonia
my sweet Symsonia
my sweet songbird of the south
where would I be without
my sweet symsonia

And she’s calling me, calling me
she is calling me calling me
she’s calling me calling me
home, home, home

my sweet Symsonia
my sweet Symsonia
pride of Elva Road
she is calling my heart home
sweet symsonia
Track Name: Himalayas
I have stood still for too long
made excuses and looked on
from the sidelines, getting too comfortable

I have waited in this place
while the years fly in my face
I am ready, ready to trade it all

I wanna go where I’ve never been
I gotta know what I’ve been missing
I wanna come back different
Home is wherever I wake up
Hollywood to the Himalayas
I gotta find out what I’m made of
and go, go
where I’ve never been
go where I’ve never been

I have run out of meaning
I am starving for feeling
my hands are reaching as I finally dare to dream

i’ve been put on this mission
given myself to the vision
my heart’s begging to break at the seams

I wanna go where I’ve never been
I gotta know what I’ve been missing
I wanna come back different
Home is wherever I wake up
Hollywood to the Himalayas
I gotta find out what I’m made of
and go, go
where I’ve never been
go, go where I’ve never been
go, go
where I’ve never been
go where I’ve never been

i have stood still for too long
stood still for too long
I have stood still for too long

I wanna go where I’ve never been
I gotta know what I’ve been missing
I wanna come back different
Home is wherever I wake up
Hollywood to the Himalayas
I gotta find out what I’m made of
and go, go
where I’ve never been
go, go where I’ve never been
go, go
where I’ve never been
go where I’ve never been
